KIERAN SHEA’s fiction has appeared in dozens of venues including Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine, Thuglit, Dogmatika, Word Riot, Plots with Guns, Beat to a Pulp, Crimefactory, and Needle: A Magazine of Noir ...as well as in some beefy-looking anthologies most of which will make you question the tether of his shiny, red balloon. To his self-deprecating astonishment he's also been nominated for the Story South’s Million Writers Award twice without sending the judges so much as a thank you note. He co-edited the satiric transgressive fiction collection D*CKED: DARK FICTION INSPIRED BY DICK CHENEY and his debut novel KOKO TAKES A HOLIDAY is out now from Titan Books. Needle Me

Well, it looks like the grassroots guerrilla team has pulled it together for Issue #2 of The Needle. Not a moment too soon. Banks, Knight, Stickney, Bill, Summerell, Bird, Weinman, Leverone, Holm, Cranmer, Blackmoore, Sheeter. Like a late August thunderstorm this issue looks snazzy, dark, and deadly. Get yours. The savvy momentum behind this effort and the passion is so worthwhile...writers of all shades stepping out and up to champion the mystery and crime short form in hand. Not online...in hand. Some day I hope I'll be asked again to contribute, but for now I'm stoked to embrace the light show. I wonder, will they have a booth at NoirCon or B'con? Yet to be seen. But Weddle and company? Well done. Kapow, indeed.
