To his self-deprecating astonishment he's also been nominated for the Story South’s Million Writers Award twice without sending the judges so much as a thank you note. He co-edited the satiric transgressive fiction collection D*CKED: DARK FICTION INSPIRED BY DICK CHENEY and his debut novel KOKO TAKES A HOLIDAY is out now from Titan Books. Kieran divides his time between 38°58′22.6″N- 76°30′4.17″W and 39.2775° N, 74.5750° W.

Once Again I Embarrass Myself

A few days ago I alluded to the forthcoming release of THE LINEUP Volume 4 - Poems on Crime. Yeah, I know what everybody is thinking. Poetry and crime, I mean, really... come on, man. But there's been some pretty prominent people dashing out the distilled wag in this independent print publication these past few years. Guys I admire like Bagley, Hall, Corbett (Mr. Noir Con Brisket), Sallis, Bruen and many others. Actually to be honest I was reluctant to submit but then editor Gerald So convinced me so I decided to give it a go. My piece "Oaxaca, 2006" is a bit different...an attempt at blurring the lines beyond typical crime-fare. Available April Fool's Day (not kidding) at Murder By the Book (Houston, TX), Once Upon a Crime (Minneapolis, MN) and The Mysterious Bookshop (NYC, NY). Online pre-orders can be snagged here.
