KIERAN SHEA’s fiction has appeared in dozens of venues including Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine, Thuglit, Dogmatika, Word Riot, Plots with Guns, Beat to a Pulp, Crimefactory, and Needle: A Magazine of Noir ...as well as in some beefy-looking anthologies most of which will make you question the tether of his shiny, red balloon. To his self-deprecating astonishment he's also been nominated for the Story South’s Million Writers Award twice without sending the judges so much as a thank you note. He co-edited the satiric transgressive fiction collection D*CKED: DARK FICTION INSPIRED BY DICK CHENEY and his debut novel KOKO TAKES A HOLIDAY is out now from Titan Books. Summer Readin'

So, how's your summer reading going? Knocking more than a few off of that towering "to be read" stack that threatens to clobber you in the middle of the night? Good. Me too, even threw a few of my highlights up on the left. But, dang, my stack is growing short so I'm looking for suggestions.

Doesn't have to be crime. Non-fiction books work as do toothsome "literary" yarns. Sci-fi is okay, but I'm taking a loooooooong break from horror. No offense.

Been searching for the right "sports" novel if that helps. I've read a bunch of golf, baseball, sailing, climbing, and football novels...but what I'm really looking for is a fun novel about hockey or rally racing.

No political books, please.
