To his self-deprecating astonishment he's also been nominated for the Story South’s Million Writers Award twice without sending the judges so much as a thank you note. He co-edited the satiric transgressive fiction collection D*CKED: DARK FICTION INSPIRED BY DICK CHENEY and his debut novel KOKO TAKES A HOLIDAY is out now from Titan Books. Writing & Movies

Been watching vast chunks of this movie a lot recently. For some reason they keep playing it on one of those movie channels bundled in with my latest cable package. Not the most wickedly paced film and Andy Garcia is always kind of a wash for me, but (wow) some of the dialogue. Good stuff. The supporting cast is just phenomenal too and, hey, I've always been a fan of Jack Warden. Just saying. Figure I'll throw in a little Zevon on the end of this post to boot. Heavy in the iPod rotation these days. Had to download it as the tape I bought in Maine during the snow-pocalypse of '92 went the way of the raphus cucullatus. Onward.
