BIO

KIERAN SHEA’s fiction has appeared in dozens of venues including Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine, Thuglit, Dogmatika, Word Riot, Plots with Guns, Beat to a Pulp, Crimefactory, and Needle: A Magazine of Noir ...as well as in some beefy-looking anthologies most of which will make you question the tether of his shiny, red balloon. To his self-deprecating astonishment he's also been nominated for the Story South’s Million Writers Award twice without sending the judges so much as a thank you note. He co-edited the satiric transgressive fiction collection D*CKED: DARK FICTION INSPIRED BY DICK CHENEY and his debut novel KOKO TAKES A HOLIDAY is out now from Titan Books. Kieran divides his time between 38°58′22.6″N- 76°30′4.17″W and 39.2775° N, 74.5750° W.

Oddball vs.Crapgame

Oh, man. Have you ever worked on something that, the more you tinker with it, the more out of whack it becomes? Oh yeah. Dig it, I am in some serious hair-pulling right now with this stupid WIP to the point I just want to delete the whole bloody thing. Two steps forward, two steps back...one cut affects another and look at that? The overall continuity is screwed. Of course meanwhile a whole bunch of other ideas are percolating and interfering with my thoughts that have NOTHING to do with the big mess that's causing all the mental strife. God damn, it would be so easy just to set the WIP aside and start fresh on something new, right? But no...I promised myself I'd finish this come hell or high water, so I swear, I'm going to do it. To keep my feet to the fire I've even put out some feelers to first readers. See when you put deadlines like that in place people call you on your bullshit. So much other good news afoot...anthologies coming out, friends and their book deals...ugh. Back to the salt mine.
