To his self-deprecating astonishment he's also been nominated for the Story South’s Million Writers Award twice without sending the judges so much as a thank you note. He co-edited the satiric transgressive fiction collection D*CKED: DARK FICTION INSPIRED BY DICK CHENEY and his debut novel KOKO TAKES A HOLIDAY is out now from Titan Books. Running Like an Antelope Up to Jersey

Ran up to Jersey last night to catch tonight's (Friday) opening show for Phish. It's a Halloween three date stand where the band plays one of their famous "musical costumes", and last year the boys from Vermont covered all of the Stones' "Exile on Main Street" so this year, who knows? Me, I'm hoping for maybe some Zevon. Given the occasion I certainly expect, at the very least, a growling cover of Edgar Winter's "Frankenstein". It's their first ever show in Atlantic City, smack dab on the chilly ocean at Boardwalk Hall...a Nucky Thompson joint, not to get all Boardwalk Empire on you. Downside is it's a crazy turn and burn to get back down to Maryland for a Halloween party on Saturday night. No choice but to power through because it's a legendary neighborhood throwdown. Yes, my Elvis jumpsuit is pressed and ready. Did you have to ask?
