BIO
KIERAN SHEA’s fiction has appeared in dozens of venues including Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine, Thuglit, Dogmatika, Word Riot, Plots with Guns, Beat to a Pulp, Crimefactory, and Needle: A Magazine of Noir ...as well as in some beefy-looking anthologies most of which will make you question the tether of his shiny, red balloon. To his self-deprecating astonishment he's also been nominated for the Story South’s Million Writers Award twice without sending the judges so much as a thank you note. He co-edited the satiric transgressive fiction collection D*CKED: DARK FICTION INSPIRED BY DICK CHENEY and his debut novel KOKO TAKES A HOLIDAY is out now from Titan Books. Kieran divides his time between 38°58′22.6″N- 76°30′4.17″W and 39.2775° N, 74.5750° W.

When Tuesday Feels Like Monday
My reading list from Memorial Day weekend. The cold cup of coffee with a razor blade at the bottom (thanks, Jed, for the gritty recommendation...wow, did that scrape the noir barrel), the outright hardboiled hilarity of Lethem, and America's finest poet-gourmand doing a road trip of the soul. Great goodly stuff all around. And lots more Juney good stuff coming, like THE KILLER INSIDE ME. Hey, a lot of people didn't like the Affleck brothers' take on Lehane...(btw it's been almost 11 years since Patrick McKenzie kicked it hard in Beantown and Moonlight Mile is due to be released soon..can't wait)...but not me. I thought C.A. nailed Patrick's plight and dark code of honor clean. Ever since I saw him bitch about getting into a fight in Good Will Hunting ("we shoulda fought them before, we got snacks now...") and I've always thought, goddamnit, Casey Affleck just needs the right vehicle. A couple were great and he went about taking his time (Jesus, have you ever seen Gerry?Hello.) and doing the sideline roles. But now this...this. Welcome to the nightmare. Mark your calendars, kids. Two weeks out.
