KIERAN SHEA’s fiction has appeared in dozens of venues including Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine, Thuglit, Dogmatika, Word Riot, Plots with Guns, Beat to a Pulp, Crimefactory, and Needle: A Magazine of Noir ...as well as in some beefy-looking anthologies most of which will make you question the tether of his shiny, red balloon. To his self-deprecating astonishment he's also been nominated for the Story South’s Million Writers Award twice without sending the judges so much as a thank you note. He co-edited the satiric transgressive fiction collection D*CKED: DARK FICTION INSPIRED BY DICK CHENEY and his debut novel KOKO TAKES A HOLIDAY is out now from Titan Books. Kieran divides his time between 38°58′22.6″N- 76°30′4.17″W and 39.2775° N, 74.5750° W.

THUGLIT VOLUME 3: BGW
Doolittle, Clayton, Turner, Allan, Zeltserman, Harper, Nikitas, freakin' Ayres, McDonald, Hansen, Porter, Gray, Piccirilli, O'Sullivan, Wolven, King, Bunker, Allan, Harrison, Murphy, Kenyon, Penncavage, Davidson, Neville (damn there's a lot of Irish bastards in the mix)...and me. Wow. Got my advance copies of THUGLIT PRESENTS: BLOOD, GUTS & WHISKEY in the mail today. Of course I had to make sure my story was actually in there. Flip-flip-flip. Yep. Page 194 -"Faith-Based Initiative"...damn...I still can't believe it. Todd Robinson was the first editor to take a crime story of mine a few years back--a black market piece called "Organ Grind"...and that acceptance made all the difference in the world to me. I was in a deep funk after crashing and burning on my first attempt at a novel (a betrayal piece set in Mexico that is utterly incoherent and awful) and on a whim I decided to try something a little more hard-boiled. Bang! Course corrected. A year or so after that I slung "Faith-Based Initiative" at Todd's doorstep and made the grade again. Two from the free throw line. Lucky, I guess. Max Allan Collins did the introduction for this volume and it is beautiful... a long sermon on pulp. Truly honored. Blood, Guts & Whiskey hits the shelves June 1st.
